Bugaboo, headquartered in Amsterdam, manufactures unique strollers meant to appeal to mothers and fathers alike. In designing the product, Max Barenbrug, who initially came up with the concept for his honors project at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, set out to create a stroller that could be used on city streets as well as for leisure activities like a walk in the forest or a stroll on the beach. The first Bugaboo stroller was produced in 1999, and since then, the brand has become popular with parents around the world. Today, the company has offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London, among other locations. The look of Bugaboo strollers tends to be rugged yet design-conscious, appealing to a variety of consumers. Available models include the Frog, the Gecko, and the Cameleon, each of which is designed to be configured in various ways according to parents' tastes and needs. The Frog model, for instance, comes with a seat and bassinet frame attached to two large and two smaller wheels, and includes a sun canopy, underseat bag, mosquito netting, rain cover, handle, bassinet fabric, seat fabric, and a maintenance kit. The seat is reversible and has three-position tilting. The unit folds up for storage when not in use, and the seats can be used in conjunction with various models of car seats. The Frog, Gecko, and Cameleon models are each available in an array of colors, which may range from basic black to cheerful pink to bright red, rich green, and other shades both classic and trendy. |
