For more than 40 years, Inglesina strollers have combined practicality with signature Italian style. Italy is famous for the beautiful designs of its clothing, accessories and even cars; the Inglesina stroller is an extension of this flair for design. The Inglesina story began back in 1963, when founder Liviano Tomasi, encouraged by his wife Bruna, produced the first Inglesina stroller. Tomasi's path to stroller making is an interesting one. He began as a go-kart designer who tuned up and set go-karts during races. Next, Liviano Tomasi began producing children's tricycles. In 1963, Tomasi and his brothers began producing the first of their now world-famous strollers. He named the company L'Inglesina Baby because his strollers were designed to resemble and function like English 'prams.' This explains the mystery of a quintessentially Italian company naming itself for England. In addition to their single-baby strollers, Inglesina produces a number of strollers for twins, triplets, and multiple infants. Before purchasing a twin or triplet stroller (like the Twin Swift or Domino Trio), make sure the stroller is appropriate for children who are your children's age. Some strollers are designed only to be used by 'same age' children; you might not be able to use such a stroller with both a four-year old child and a four-month old infant. One of the qualities that distinguishes Inglesina strollers from many other brands is their 'one touch' folding system. Being able to fold a stroller easily can be a blessing when juggling diaper bags, babies, umbrellas, and the like. |
