Yuasa Battery

For years Yuasa Batteries, have been manufacturing a complete line of value regulated lead acid batteries. Yuasa batteries are used for applications as UPS, telecommunications, security emergency lighting, utility/switchgear, general electronics, aviation, military, sport, leisure and medical fields. In 1976, General Battery Corporation in Laureldale formed a joint venture company with Yuasa Battery Japan, manufacturing its first battery in 1979, and going on to produce Yumicron and standard conventional 12 volt batteries. In the USA, Yuasa have been manufacturing motorcycle batteries to uncompromisingly high standards since 1979. In the early 1980s, Yuasa engineered YMF14L-2, its first maintenance free and gas recombination battery for the power sports aftermarket. The company also developed its first AGM, YTX14-BS battery specifically for ATV applications. General Battery was sold to Exide Corporation in 1987, which saw the evolution of Yuasa/Exide Battery Corporation; later in 1991 Yuasa/Exide purchased Exide's Industrial Division. 2000 saw the establishment of Yuasa battery Inc. when Yuasa Inc. sealed its acid and lead business and sold its industrial division to Enersys. Currently, Yuasa Battery Inc. is one of the leading battery providers for powersports, supplying to 7 out of 8 original powersports equipment manufacturers in Canada, the United States and Mexico. Yuasa believes in generating long lasting, powerful batteries that require minimum maintenance. In the US, Yuasa has been manufacturing motorcycle batteries since 1979 and is the primary supplier to manufacturers such as Cannondale, Buell, Harley-Davidson, Excelsior-Henderson, Indian, Honda, Polaris Victory and Kawasaki, accounting for 90% of the batteries used in powersport vehicles in Northern America. ATV's today are one of the biggest growing segments of powersports, which require bigger and better batteries which are supplied by Yuasa, not only for the ever-growing engine sizes, but also to power the extra equipment like plows, lights and winches. The ultimate high performance M/F VRLA, 'YTX' and 'YTZ' batteries are also available in 12-volt sizes with capacities from 2.3 to 30 AH.
