About Commercial Radio

Commercial radio has quickly evolved over the past few decades. The two-way Motorola radio was first created in 1940 and it was originally intended for military use. This commercial radio device became known as the ''walkie-talkie.''''Walkie-talkie'' and ''handie-talkie'' radios were widely used during the second World War. In the post-war period, the use of portable hand-made transceivers was implemented among police officers and emergency services. The commercial radio became available to civilian users later, after specific frequencies were assigned for this purpose. Today, most commercial radio devices are battery-operated and they can easily be recharged with the aid of rapid battery chargers. They may also feature programmable buttons and adjustable power levels. Business walkie-talkies and mobile radios are considered to be useful communication tools for both business and personal uses. Commercial radio devices can be used to communicate within a range--commonly between five and 12 miles. Since two-way radios can both transmit and receive, they are also known as transceivers. In essence, the mobile or cellular telephone is a popular example of a portable commercial two-way radio or transceiver. A mobile phone commonly carries the two directions of a conversation simultaneously using two different radio frequencies. Commercial radio usage in general--and cellular or mobile phones in particular--have become common worldwide. This has led to a revolutionary evolution of commercial radio devices, parts, and implements, which seem to come with new and improved features every day.
