About Ikea Office Furniture

Sweden-based, Ikea, is a home and office furnishings giant. Created in 1943, by Ingvar Kamprad, the company's initial product lineup included watches, pens, jewelry, picture frames, nylon stockings, and table runners. In 1947, Ikea began dealing in furniture, with in-house furniture design and manufacturing starting in 1955. A unique facet of Ikea furniture was that the customer could assemble the product, without the product being pre-assembled at the time of purchase. This method was proved to be a cost-saving measure for the company, both in term of packaging and shipping, a benefit which could be passed on to the customer. Nowadays, when people spend a major portion of their waking hours in the office, the importance of a comfortable office environment cannot be over-emphasized. Ikea offers a wide variety of computer tables and workstations, combining style with efficiency. From completely closed wooden tables, to open, steel rimmed desks, with sliding shelves for the keyboard and the mouse pad, these stand-alone desks offer a compact work-space solution. The surface for the monitor can be tilted according to the user's preference, providing for a more ergonomically correct working posture. There is a side shelf for the CPU tower and another shelf for a printer or scanner. Some of the tables have sturdy castors for easy portability. For a laptop only, a height-adjustable table is available. Some workstations have an array of drawers on one side, with one single cabinet on the other side for a CPU tower. Other accessories include a CD rack, wastepaper basket, magazine holder, and a notice board. Artistic desktop lamps with adjustable arms and heads, make reading easier, in a dark room. Lockable steel cabinets and cupboards of varied shapes and sizes, ensure that confidential documents can be safely stored. Heavy duty swivel chairs with height and depth adjustments as well as tilting backrests make sitting at your desk a pleasure. The leather upholstery which fits into the contours of the user's body, enhance comfort even further and prevent sitting-posture related medical conditions. Ikea is truly living up to its motto, 'Affordable Solutions for Better Living'.
