About Canon Lens

As any photographer knows, the key to taking a good picture starts with choosing a good lens. Although consumers have a tendency to spend a lot of money on the latest camera body (especially in the digital age), choosing the right lens is important to taking full advantage of a camera's abilities. No matter how many mega-pixels your Canon camera may have, purchasing a quality Canon lens may pay dividends for years to come. When it comes to selecting a Canon lens, budget is everything. As carefully crafted pieces of glass, lenses can be quite expensive. Obviously prime lenses offer the highest quality with no distortion, but require the purchase various individual pieces. Zoom lenses provide more range, but aren't as fast. The choice comes down to how much you are willing to spend and how high of a priority convenience is.Zoom lenses come in many sizes. Some will offer a limited range, while others will cover an incredible scope of possibilities. In general, if you are a beginner photographer, a quality zoom lens that covers the most basic wide angle and telephoto requirements may be sufficient. A 28-90mm Canon lens, for example, is practical and can deliver results. Purchasing two sets: one to cover short and medium ranges and another to cover medium to long, is a good way to cover your bases without having to carry around too many lenses.Prime lenses offer the most precise optics available. A prime lens only offers one range of view. Typically, photographers purchase these for any focal length of 50mm or less. 50mm is considered normal, in that it is the closest to what the eye sees. Anything lower is a wide angle. Canon offers an incredible range of choices in lenses, all of which are interchangeable.
