Provided by the Boost Mobile Network, the Motorola Clutch i465 is a solidly built all-around mid-range smartphone. It's nothing too fancy, and at the same time doesn't lack for much. The design is clean and stylish without being a fashion victim, the device is compact and lightweight (4.4' x 2.1' x 0.6', 3.4 oz.) but the 1.79' 64,000-color 160 x 128 resolution screen and QWERTY keypad are large enough to be comfortable on the eyes and thumbs. This is Boost Mobile's first foray into messaging smartphones and but for the absence of instant messaging support it hits all the marks, right down to Push to Talk (PTT) calling. The controls are easy to figure out and use, even for a first-timers, with a circular toggle switch bearing a central OK button, a dedicated menu button, a speakerphone key, two soft keys, and the obvious Power/End and Talk buttons. And not only is it easy to use but it's also hard to break, as it's been built and certified to military specifications for solar radiation, dust, vibration, and shock. Boost Mobile's Motorola Clutch i465 is also a great device for a would-be Sprint Nextel user were the prices more within their budget.
