The Samsung a900 is a sleek piece and runs on Sprint's dual-band CDMA 1x EV-DO network, the phone also takes advantage of Sprint's Power Vision. The phone is encased in a light weight magnesium metal shell, making it strong and durable. The 1.3 megapixel rotating lens camera can take excellent quality pictures up to 1280x960 pixels in resolution. The usual flash options and self-timers, along with other controls help in taking great pictures. You can also record videos using the camera in a 3GP2 codec. This clamshell form-factor phone has a 65K color 96x96 pixel resolution of display on the front panel along with three circular buttons that control the media player. You can listen to your favorite songs via the two stereo speakers located at the bottom corners without even opening the phone. The phone features a 2.35-inch 262K, 240x320 pixel TFT display screen; ideal for watching video streaming via Sprint TV. The 5-way directional keypad makes navigation a breeze and text messaging is comfortable using the 12 button keypad. The phone supports SMS, EMS, MMS, and email, and helps you with the 'predictive texting' (T9) function. The Samsung a900 allows you to download music from the online Sprint Music Store, and you can store up to a CD's worth of music on the phone itself. The phone does not have an expandable memory option but through Sprint Power Vision you can listen to live streaming audio. With Sprint TV you can watch anything from Fox Sports, ESPN, NBC, and Fashion TV to the Discovery Channel and Toon World depending on the packages you choose to enroll for. There are also a number of Java games that run on the J2ME platform. Sprint Game Lobby lets you compete with other gamers connected to the network. |
