Side Kick IThe mobile world has been changing rapidly in recent years and continues to do so. Mobiles are no longer only for making, and receiving calls it has become a fashion accessory such as the Sidekick 1. Sidekick 1, also known as Hiptop is manufactured by Danger. Integrated within this device are a large 11-line color screen, usual PDA functions, a full QWERTY keyboard, and a wide range of AOL-based online services, with an aim to add versatility for users with their Hiptop computer/phone. The sidekick also provides GPRS network allowing browsing the Internet with access to Sidekick contests, forums and a personalized homepage. It also provides email storage of up to 6MB allowing AOL users to use AOL Instant Messenger, sign in, and access, manage and set up as many as three different POP3 e-mail accounts. In addition, the phone supports a customized address book with an option of assigning ring tones, blinking lights, and caller ID picture. This device is designed to suit an attachable camera. At 4.6 x 2.6 x 1.1 inches, the sidekick weighs 6.02 oz which includes a power adapter, headphone jack, and a lithium ion battery. Its PDA functions include configurable notifications to alert one for important events, wireless synchronization to the desktop, personal information manager, a clock, back light, and a thumb control for arcade-style games. Also included are features like text messaging, voice mail button, voice mail indicator, signal strength indicator, and volume display. Its phone book can save a maximum of 2000 contacts with multiple entries per contact. |
