Sony Ericsson W900I

In 2001, the Japanese consumer electronics company, Sony, and the Swedish telecommunications company, Ericsson, entered into a joint venture to make mobile phones. Both companies ceased making their own phones. The reason behind this merger was to combine Sony's global marketing expertise with Ericsson's technological leadership in telecommunications. In 2005, Sony Ericsson introduced the Walkman branded W-series phones. The Sony Ericsson W900i is one of them. The W900i is a swivel action walkman phone that supports advanced 3G network services. This phone enables one to use two or more features at the same time; for example, listening to music while replying to an email. The handset has easy-to-use 5-way navigation and action buttons. The visual interface consists of a crisp 262K color screen at a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The crystal-clear screen also acts as a viewfinder for clicking pictures from its 2 mega pixel camera with the Karl-Ziess lens. There are hardware buttons to play/pause the music and for volume control. It is easy to manage one's music on this phone by creating user-defined playlists. An eight channel graphic equalizer with many presets helps the individual get optimum sound output from the MP3 player. The W900i also has a radio FM player and supports MP3 tones and polyphonic tones. The radio controller, with a LCD display on the handsfree, also acts as a remote for the MP3 player. Java MIDP 2.0 makes sure that all applications run smoothly. The phone also supports WAP 2.0. 3G users can do video call conferencing and watch live video streams over the network. The W900i has Bluetooth and Infrared features for wireless data transfer and USB connectivity to connect with a computer to load data like music, videos, etc. It has an onboard memory of 470 MB and also supports memory sticks if more disk space is needed.
