Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters is a clothing retail store located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland. The first store was opened in 1970 in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania by company President, Richard Hayne. Today, their chain consists of more than 140 stores.
They started as a clothing and household products retailer that had a 'cool n' funky' label to their merchandise. Today, their fashion line covers vintage, bohemian, and retro themes, and oddly designed household items. Their household items list include books on various topics, colorful bed sheets, sofa sets, couches, kitchenware, eccentric toys, wall hangings etc. Their footwear brands include Nike, Adidas, Vans, Puma, Converse and Diesel for both men and women. Women's accessories brands include Loop, Paul Frank and Harajuku Lovers, while men's accessories include Lacoste, Modern Amusement, Triple Five Soul and Puma. Hats, watches, underwear, belts, sunglasses, rings for both men and women are available under one roof. 'Carbon', located in Europe is a dedicated music CD collection shop located inside Urban Outfitters. CDs are personally selected according to what the customers would be interested in, and they cover genres from Indie and Urban to Dance.
The group operates under two brands; Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. Their Free People wholesale division designs and markets women's casual apparel. Over the years, Urban Outfitters have gained popularity to their risky, and often controversial clothes with bold themes and graphics.
