'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' is a fictional story written by Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who was a mathematician and author of British nationality. The book was first published on July 4, 1865, under his pen name, Lewis Carroll. However, Americans were introduced to Alice only in 1869. The story revolves around a young girl named Alice who, while on a picnic with her sister, gets bored and soon starts to nod off. However, she 'spies' a white rabbit going down a rabbit hole and, to overcome her boredom, follows it. From this point onward, the little girl enters a completely different world, one which is bizarre and unbelievable. Apart from Alice, the other characters include The White Rabbit, The March Hare, The Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, The King of Hearts, the Queen of Hearts, the Knave of Hearts, Twiddledum, and Twiddledee. 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' was also made into movies. When Disney released 'Alice in Wonderland' in 1951, there was a huge demand for Alice costumes, which are famous even today. The costume consists of a full skirt with puffed sleeves and a pinafore apron attached to it. The dress is lined with lace and is generally a combination of blue and white. The skirt is blue while the pinafore apron is white in color. A head bow is also part of the ensemble besides shoes with socks. The dress is available in different sizes and materials. The outfits are also available in adult sizes. |
