Allen Edmonds is a prestigious American shoe company, which specializes in high-quality, handcrafted men's dress shoes. The original Allen Edmonds factory was established in Belgium, WI in 1922. After surviving the Great Depression thanks to extraordinary salesmanship and quality goods, Allen Edmonds went on to become a household brand name in the United States. Despite the meteoric rise of younger competitors, Allen Edmonds has held its ground as a successful boutique firm. In 1984, tragedy befell the company when the original WI factory burned to the ground. The new steward of the company, John Stollenwerk, encouraged the rebuilding of Allen Edwards. After acquiring a number of smaller shoe companies, including Maine Shoe and Woodlore, Allen Edwards regained its place as a premier shoe manufacturer. Each Allen Edmonds pair of shoes gets produced by over 212 steps. The company uses extremely high value leather and cuts this material carefully to prevent introducing imperfections into the final product. Whereas other companies skimp on interior leather, Allen Edmonds insists on using all natural materials to line its shoes, since real leather absorbs far less moisture than synthetic leather does. Allen Edmonds shoes are made without so-called rigid shanks. Thus, your feet can move with the shoes--not against them. These shoes also known for cork layer linings, 360 degree welts, and remarkable durability. Since Allen Edmonds shoes are handmade, you get an inimitable final product. While Allen Edmond's men's loafers and dress shoes are by no means inexpensive, they are timeless, comfortable, and backed by strong warranty plans. |
