Bebe Clothing markets fashionable clothing to women between the ages of 18 and 35. The brand aims for a sensual, hip style for the fashion-conscious young woman, and sells tank tops, shirts, blouses, sweaters, dresses, outerwear, jeans, pants, shorts, skirts, and suits. Bebe also sells dress and active shoes, hand bags, glasses, jewelry, belts, and hats for women.The bebe clothing line was started in 1976 by an Iranian immigrant named Manny Mashouf. Along with his wife, Mashouf opened the first bebe store in San Francisco, and the brand has expanded steadily from there. The company, bebe designs, markets three brands: bebe, bebe sport for athletic wear, and bebe O as an outlet brand. There are a total of 228 bebe stores located in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Bebe clothing is highly contemporary in styling, and primarily meant for young women comfortable with bearing a little skin. Although high-end in sensibility, bebe is inexpensive compared to other comparable fashion boutiques. The brand boasts that Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, and Eva Longoria all sport bebe clothing from time to time.
