Bridesmaids Dress

A bridesmaid is often a young woman of marriageable age that tends to the bride's needs during and after the wedding ceremony. It left entirely to the bride's discretion to choose a bridesmaid; most of the times the bridesmaid is a close relative or friend. The primary bridesmaid is known as the maid of honor or matron of honor (if married). The bride can choose to have more than one bridesmaid. The bridesmaid complement the bride hence choosing a bridesmaid dress is as tasking as choosing one for the bride. Bridesmaid dresses come in a variety of patterns, as complete one-piece dresses or separate tops and skirts. Unlike the traditional bridal gowns that are white, the bridesmaid's dress can be in any color. They may be of same or similar shades to that of the brides or may be in contrasting shades. The design may be in contour, strapless, halter or with sleeves. The dress may extend till the knees or till the ankle or right up to the floor. The different fabrics that may be used for the dresses are satins, silks, crepes, taffetas, georgettes, tulles, brocades, and chiffon. The dresses may be completed with lace, embroidery, gems, crystals, rhinestones or matching shawls. Some of the dresses have built in cups for support and accentuate the shape. Sometimes instead of a complete dress, separate tops and skirts may be used as the attire for the bridesmaid. The top may be of different styles such as off-shoulder, halter, sleeveless, strapless or V-neck. They can also be mixed and matched with different skirts.
