Brunschwig & Fils, Inc. is a wholesale house that caters to interior designers, architects, and design departments of interiors, and furniture stores. Brunschwig has in the offering more than 20,000 fabrics and 1,200 wall coverings. Their d'©cor theme ranges from fine documentary reproductions to remarkable contemporary styles. Brunschwig & Fils, Inc. was established in 1900 by Achille Brunschwig as a tapestry weaving mill in Aubusson and Bohain, in France. Brunschwig soon started expanding by including printed and woven, silks, and cottons from the best European Mills. Brunschwig had also started receiving international acclaim for its quality. By 1925, the company came under the directorship of Captain Roger E. Brunschwig, son of the founder. Roger made an effort to expand the business by opening showrooms in New York and several other American cities. Today Brunschwig is headed by Thomas P. Peardon and Murray Bartlett Douglas and Olivier Peardon, Thomas and Murray are the nephew and niece respectively, of Mrs. Zelina Roger Brunschwig. The company gets its resources from more than 200 mills in Europe. Brunschwig, whilst introducing new designs each year, does not retract its old designs. Designs as old as 200 years are also still persistent in their collections. Brocades, lampas and velvets that were created for Louis XV in the early 1940s are produced till today on the same looms as the original. The design studio creates two new fabric collections annually, consisting of more than forty individual designs in a spectrum of colors. One of these collections is themed on a museum or any historic event. Today, Brunschwig offers a wide range of upholstery, wallpapers, lamps, tables, and other furniture. |
