The Cole-Haan company started as an artistic collaboration between Trafton Cole and Eddie Haan in the late 1920s. Cole focused on crafting the shoes, and Haan focused on selling the fine products to customers and bolstering the business. Cole-Haan shoes became renowned not only for their craftsmanship but also for their innovation. Unlike other shoe manufacturers, which shut down during the Great Depression, Cole-Haan managed to forge ahead thanks to its quality products. Today, Cole-Haan manufactures a host of shoes and accessories, which include watches, leather pieces, belts, and even handbags. The company was recently bought out by Nike, Inc. Thanks to its new parent company, Cole-Haan shoes has been able to improvise and innovate even more. Some Cole-Haan shoes now come equipped with Nike's patented Air Technology. Cole-Haan remains on the leading edge of design. Recent releases featured Metallic, Animal, Frye Boots Glam, Aspen Chic, and Lady Luxe designs. Cole-Haan has also made a name as a fine manufacturer of women's boots. The Jeri Tall Boot, which sells for more than 300 dollars, comes with full leather lining, a stacked heel, o-rings, and a Vibram sole for durability. For a slightly less pricey Cole-Haan boot, check out the Jezebel Shearling line. This features a wedged sole made of high-quality rubber, a leopard print calf, and soft suede. If you're looking for work shoes, consider either the Meena Pump or the Ginata Mule. Cole-Haan also produces a line of classic, yet innovative purses. |
