The history behind Jessica McClintock's clothing empire dates back to the 1970s. Back then, Jessica McClintock had moved to California to enter the teaching line. She came across a small apparel company known as Gunne Sax, and decided to put the designing skills she had learnt from her seamstress grandmother to test. She transformed Gunne Sax into a multifaceted international clothing company Jessica McClintock, Inc. Jessica McClintock's designs are sold throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The dresses designed by Jessica McClintock, Inc cater to the diverse taste of its customers. Her designs capture the essence of feminine spirit and the use of lace adds sophistication to her dresses. The bridal dresses come in various patterns, such as the flowing, fluffed, Victorian-style as well the non-traditional patterns. Some of her gowns are off-track from the contemporary white bridal gowns by the use of red, black, lavender, pink, and aqua colors. Around 100 bridal gowns are made each year along with bridesmaids' and flower girls' dresses. The fabrics used by Jessica for her dresses are satins, silks, crepes, taffetas, georgettes, tulles, brocades, and her patent lace that she uses on most of her designs. Along with wedding dresses the company also has a range of cocktail dresses, prom dresses, homecoming dresses. To complement the dresses, Jessica launched her signature fragrances in 1988. She was nominated for the FiFi Award for one of the fragrances, in recognition of unique packaging. Jessica McClintock, Inc also has a licensing division that includes product lines such as China, Eyewear, Handbags, Jewelry, and Home Furniture. |
