Jimmy Choo is a Chinese designer based in London, England. Jimmy Choo's actual name is Jimmy Chow. He was born into a family of shoemakers in Penang, Malaysia and created his first shoe at the age of 11. Jimmy Choo is a graduate from the world-famous Cordwainers College in Hackney, East London and established a small studio in London's East End.

Jimmy Choo is known for their hand-made designer shoes and handbags. Among his many well-known clients are Natalie Imbruglia and Katie Holmes. Tamara Mellon, former UK Vogue accessories editor, partnered with Jimmy Choo to start an apparel company and sourced factories in Italy to produce the shoes on a larger scale. Consequently, plans were made to open the first Jimmy Choo stand alone boutique and to enlarge the business throughout the fashion capitals of the world. In June 2003, Jimmy Choo was awarded an OBE (Officer British Empire) by the Queen of England, for his services in making London's name prominent in the world of design and the fashion industry. The late Diana, Princess of Wales also wore Choo's collection. With the partnership with Equinox Luxury Holdings Ltd. in April 2001, the company expanded within three years. They opened twenty six new stores in addition to existing four located at London, New York, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. Tamara Mellon and Jimmy Choo's niece Sandra Choi then launched the new ready-to-wear line. The Jimmy Choo collection are designed twice in year (Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer).

Jimmy is currently focusing on Jimmy Choo Couture footwear. These shoes are made by hand and his craftsmanship is demonstrated by the way attention is paid to each and every detail.
