The Greek goddess of victory is called Nike, and that's exactly where the $13.7 billion revenue and growing company, Nike Inc got its name. Founded in 1947 by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, today Nuke Inc is one of the top brands in sport accessories and clothing. Nike introduced the Nike Air Max range of shoes in 1987. The large air cushioning system, which gave the shoe the advantage of flexibility, and durability made the shoe incredibly light weight and added extra cushioning. The most popular Air Max shoes include the Air Max I, Air Max III, and Air 180. Nike Inc launched the Air Max 360 on January 21, 2006. The 360 revolutionized sports shoe design; where traditional running shoes use a cushioning system along with foam mid soles, the 360 utilizes the 'Max Air' system throughout the shoe and even in the mid sole. Foam mid soles last for an approximate 500 miles, after which their shock-absorbing asset diminishes; hence the Air Max 360's design prolongs the durability of the shoe. The 360 is the lightest Air Max shoe produced, utilizing laser cutting technology to slice off all extra material, thus reducing the weight of the shoe. It also has etched circular cuts along the top.
