Zara
Zara is part of the Spanish Inditex Group which also include other brands such as, Massimo Dutti, Kiddy's Class, Pull and Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho and Zara Home. The first flagship store opened in 1975, in A Coru'±a, Galicia, Spain. Currently, Zara is one of the world's fastest growing retailer with over 2,700 stores around the world in 60 countries.
With a unique business model that enables them to expand and compete with several other quality brands at affordable prices, Zara claims that they need two weeks rather than the nine months industry average to develop a new product and get it to the stores. An unusual approach that Zara took was its policy of zero advertising; the company invested a percentage of revenues in opening new stores. The clothing company offers the latest trends in international fashion, in an environment of hip and stylish designs. The retailer offers exclusive clothing for women, men, and children and also includes a range of cosmetics. Zara's collection caters to various audiences and yet maintains a classy casual style.
Top fashion director, Daniel Piette who works with Louis Vuitton, describes Zara as 'possibly the most innovative and devastating retailer in the world'.
