About Ford Bronco 1968

The Ford Motor Company first manufactured the Ford Bronco in year 1966. Donald N. Frey inspired the creation of the Bronco, while Paul G. Axelrad was responsible for the structural design of the car's chassis. The car's body, frame, and suspensions were different from those in cars available at that time. The brakes and axles were borrowed from the Ford F-100 trucks. The Ford Bronco had a simple design with flat glass, no-frill bumpers, and a short wheel base. The square body of the car included front bucket seats, rear bench seat, a CB radio, and tachometer. Auxiliary gas tank, snowplow, winch, tow bar, postholes digger and different tires and wheels were also available. The 1968 Ford Bronco was a front 6-cylinder inline engine car. The engine was naturally aspirated and could churn out 100 BHP at 4000 RPM. The cast 'iron block engine displacement was 2.8 liters; the compression ratio was 8.7:1. The car transmission was manual and it ran on petrol. The front suspensions were made of coil springs, while the rear suspensions were leaf springs in a typical Hotchkiss design. The Bronco was a two-door car and could accommodate four people comfortably. The body of the car was made in the ladder frame. Till 1977, the Bronco was manufactured as a compact SUV; later, in 1978, it was modified as a full-size SUV. The production of the Broncos continued till the year 1996.
