IBM was first incorporated on June 15, 1911, in New York, as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company. In the early 1920s, the company introduced mechanized products such as the Lock Autograph Recorder, the first complete school time control, besides launching the Electronic Accounting Machine. On February 14, 1924, the company's name was formally changed to International Business Machines Corp., (IBM). IBM manufactures, sells, supports, and develops computer hardware, software, infrastructure services, hosting services, and consulting services in areas ranging from mainframe computers to nanotechnology. IBM is the biggest IT company in the world, and holds the highest number of patents. The IBM 600E ThinkPad is a low-specification laptop, but it is ideal for basic computer use on the move '? and for students on a tight budget. The ThinkPad is perfect for daily computing needs such as office applications, email, Internet, etc. However, the IBM 600E can't be used for the purpose of the graphic designing of games. The IBM 600E has a Pentium II 366MHz processor which is ideally suited to run all basic software required for home or office use. It has a 128MB Ram which is upgradeable to 256MB RAM. The hard disk space is 6GB, low in comparison to modern standards but then again it works just as fine if not overloaded with unnecessary data like music and videos. The 600E comes with a 64MB USB data port, a CD ROM drive, a 13.3' TFT screen, a PCMCIA slot, and a 56 kbps internet modem.
