The 2405FPW is an active matrix TFT flat panel screen designed by Dell Inc. Dell Inc. is an American computer hardware company that has its base in Texas. In the Forbes 500 list for the year 2005, Dell came in as the 28th largest company in United States in terms of revenue. The 2405FPW monitor stretches to a 24-inch wide screen display having a native resolution of 1,920 by 1,200 pixels and color support of 16.7 million colors. It is has a thin dark-gray plastic bezel and rests on an adjustable stand that can be tilted in all directions, catering to the requirement of the user. The screen can also be rotated. Six inconspicuous buttons lie at the bottom right corner of 2405FPW. These buttons aid the user to turn on the display, switch between inputs, activate the picture-in-picture option and maneuver through the onscreen menu. The screen is versatile with analog and digital connectors, and has 4-port USB hub to connect peripherals. It also has a component, composite, and S-video ports for plugging in game consoles, CD players, DVD players, or other devices that support video format. Another feature is an array of card slots for all the widely used flash-card formats as well as a 12V audio jack for connecting optional speakers. The PiP that is picture-in-picture option enables viewing of content from two different sources at one time. The screen has a contrast ratio of 1000 to 1 and a brightness of 500 CD/m². It has a viewing angle of 178 degrees and dimensions of 22 inches x 9 inches x 22 inches. It consumes around 80 watts of power when operational.
