The first from Dell's stables in 2002, Axim X5 is a personal digital assistant (PDA) based on the 300 MHz Intel XScale PXA250 Processor with 32MB RAM, 32MB flash ROM, a Type II CompactFlash Slot, an SD/MMC Slot, a 16-Bit TFT display, speaker, microphone, and running on Windows Mobile 2002 (earlier known as Pocket PC 2002). Its successor, the Axim X3, was built on a 400 MHz Intel XScale Processor, 64MB RAM, and 48MB Flash ROM configuration, apart from the usual specifications. It weighed 6.9 ounces and measured 5 x 3.2 x 0.7 inches in dimension and lasted almost 8 hours. The first Pocket PC running on the Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition was the Dell Axim X30. It was also the first to implement the Intel XScale PXA270 processors. The 624 MHz processor earned it the tag of the fastest Personal Digital Assistant at the time of its launch. All variants of the X30 include a standard SD/MMC/SDIO slot, a replaceable/rechargeable battery and a 3.5' QVGA TFT 16-Bit color display. The latest in the Del Axim family of PDAs is the X51 series launched in late September 2005. Similar in a few features to the X50, the X51, it uses the Windows Mobile 5 as the operating system, a 3.7' color TFT VGA display with up to 640x480 resolution having up to 256 MB built-in Intel Flash ROM. It has an integrated 802.11b Wi-Fi connectivity module accompanied with a Bluetooth 1.2 standard interface and an Intel® 2700G 3D multimedia accelerator with 16MB video RAM.
