Karaoke Songs

Karaoke songs usually fall into one of two categories. Either they are songs that have been altered to remove or diminish the lead vocals, or they are songs that have been created without lead vocals, recorded specifically for use in karaoke. Karaoke songs are not necessarily made without any vocals; sometimes the background vocals are left in, adding greatly to the overall quality of the music.Karaoke songs are available in many different mediums. For instance, people who don't own a karaoke machine and have no interest in buying one may want to purchase karaoke DVDs. These DVDs almost always include lyrics that are timed to appear on the screen at the right place in the song. Karaoke DVDs can usually be played on DVD players, Playstations, X Boxes, or computers with DVD drives.Other karaoke songs are available as CDs, MP3s, MIDIs, or CD+Gs. CD+Gs are audio compact discs that also contain data for graphics. This CD+G format is almost exclusively for karaoke. Karaoke songs are usually grouped according to musical genre, era, or audience. For example, one disc of karaoke music might contain only country and western hits. Another might be even more specific, focusing only on country and western music from the 1980s. A third disc might include the work of a single country and western artist or group, such as The Dixie Chicks. Popular categories for karaoke music include decades of pop music (such as '80s pop hits), musical eras (like 'Oldies' rock and roll), genres (like Christian music), as well as children's music.
