Created by the well-known satellite radio company Sirius, the Sirius S50 is a wearable satellite radio. This innovative radio integrates live and time-shifted content, allowing the listener to enjoy a full range of programming choices without being tied down to one location. This radio also features a simple user interface and MP3/Windows Media Audio (WMA) support. It also offers voice prompting, allowing the user to drive or walk safely while operating the unit.

Different from other radios, the Sirius S50 allows users to enjoy entertaining listening in two different ways. First, the user can enjoy a full selection of satellite programming with this portable unit. Second, the user can connect with a computer and download personal music choices.

The Sirius S50 has a full-color screen, as well as a contextual media dial. The unit allows for the storage of more than 50 hours of content. Using specialized Sirius computer software, the user can even merge favorite music files with exclusive Sirius-provided music to create a personalized collection of favorites.

In order to receive live content from Sirius, the Sirius S50 must be placed in a powered dock. An antenna must be used as well. The unit uses USB connectivity to interact with a computer. Additional docks designed for use in varied locations are available. Usually, these docks are sold separately from the S50.
