About Johnny Knoxville

American comic actor Johnny Knoxville is best known as co-creator and host of MTV 'Jackass'. He has also featured in the Jay Chandrasekhar adaptation of 'The Dukes of Hazzard' along with Seann William Scott. His other works include John Waters' 'A Dirty Shame', Katrina Holden Bronson's 'Daltry Calhoun', 'Desert Blues', 'Coyote Ugly', 'Life Without Dick', 'MIB 2' and others. Johnny Knoxville was born Philip John (P.J.) Clapp on March 11, 1971, at Knoxville, Tennessee, to Phil and Lemoyne Clapp. Phil ran the Clapp's Tire Store. PJ, as he was fondly called, was known as a prankster from the time he was a tiny tot. When he was seven-years-old, he brought a hornet's nest home and insisted on sitting besides it all the time. When he was 13, he made his parents believe that he had failed in all grades and once jumped from the second storey of a building into the swimming pool. Knoxville graduated from high school when he was 18 and joined the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasedena. However, he dropped out within a few weeks of joining. Initially, Knoxville featured in commercials to support his family. The various products that he has endorsed include Taco Bell, Coors Light and Mountain Dew. In 1996, Knoxville came up with the weird idea of shooting himself with pepper spray, a taser, a stun gun and a .38, and then pen down his experience. After many rejections, he was finally signed on by Big Brother Magazines, following which he became part of their videos and, consequently, became popular. Knoxville married his neighbor Melanie, a Texan woman. They have a daughter named Madison, whose name Knoxville has tattooed on his chest '? near his heart.
