Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is a classic fairytale, transformed by Disney into a magical and captivating movie. It is the story of Ariel, a mermaid princess, who falls in love with a prince from the land, Eric. Unhappy with her life underwater and dreaming of living among the land dwellers, the Little Mermaid defies her authoritative father, King Triton and sneaks up to the surface of the sea to collect human artifacts. One day she catches a glimpse of Prince Eric and falls in love with him. She then strikes a deal with the evil witch Ursula who transforms her into a human for three days, on the agreement that unless she kisses Prince Eric within those three days, her soul will belong to Ursula forever. Accompanying her on this adventure is her best friend Flounder the fish and Scuttle the loony seagull. With voices by Jodi Benson for Ariel, Samuel E. Wright for Sebastian, Buddy Hackett for Scuttle, Cam Clarke for Flounder, and Kenneth Mars for King Triton, The Littler Mermaid claimed box office success in 1997. The character of Little Mermaid is based in the character played by Alyssa Milano in the hit television show 'Who's The Boss?' The success of the Little Mermaid led to the next installment, Little Mermaid 2. The plot for the sequel revolves around Melody, the daughter of Ariel and Eric. Melody sets out on a quest to find out about her heritage that her parents hid from her in order to protect her from Ursula's evil twin sister Morgana. Little Mermaid merchandise includes Little Mermaid dairies, purses, figurines, tiny tank aquariums, chocolate candy molds, and puzzles to name a few.
