About One Tree Hill
For nine seasons, audiences were glued to their TVs, watching the drama on "One Tree Hill" unfold. The story revolves around the lives of half-brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott, who are vying for a spot on their high school basketball team, the Tree Hill Ravens. Basketball, love, and their relationship keep the story moving and the audience wanting more. James Lafferty plays Nathan, a basketball jock and the head of the Ravens. He starts feeling jealous and threatened when Lucas joins the team and is threatened by his talented, younger brother. Lucas, played by Chad Michael Murray, is resentful of Nathan since their father had initially refused to acknowledge him as a son. Despite Nathan's attempts to get him off the team, he becomes even more resolved to stay on with the Ravens. Of course, the drama wouldn't be complete without some love triangles. Nathan's ire at Lucan is further stoked when he shows an interest in his girlfriend, Peyton, and so he decides to pursue Haley, Lucas' best friend. The Peyton-Lucas romance is further complicated by Brooke, who comes between the two star-crossed lovers. As the series progresses, Lucas and Nathan are able to put their differences aside and grow closer through their various triumphs and tragedies. "One Tree Hill" season 1 was an instant hit, averaging 3.5 million viewers and has the distinction of being one of the few shows whose audience grew during the second episode. This show also featured several talented and then-unknown young stars like Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush (who also pursued an off-screen romance).
