That 70S Show

That 70s Show debuted on the Fox Network in the summer of 1998. The series revolved around a group of teenagers growing up in Wisconsin during the 1970s. That 70s Show grew to be quite popular, running eight years for a total of 200 episodes. The series also spun off That 80s Show, a show which was not well-received. Fans of the original series failed to carry over to its spin-off, which lasted a mere 13 episodes.The main character of That 70s Show is Eric Forman. Eric lives with his parents Kitty and Red Forman and his older sister Laurie. Living next door to the Formans are the Pinciottis, including Bob and Midge and their daughter (and Eric's love interest) Donna. The couple's teenage friends and the show's other main characters include Hyde (Eric's stoner best friend), Michael Kelso (the resident ladies man), Jackie (Kelso's girlfriend), and Fez (the foreign exchange student).Plotlines in the show oftentimes revolved around important political events of the 1970s. A few of these include feminism, sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll, and the recession. Although the first season takes place in 1976, only three years pass during the show's eight-year run. In the final season, both Topher Grace (Eric Forman) and Ashton Kutcher (Michael Kelso) left the series to pursue other acting opportunities. Taking their place was a new character, Randy Pearson.Fans argue this is when That 70s Show began to falter with viewers, although others will cite the two occasions when Eric's sister was written out of the series, or when Donna dyed her red hair blonde. Fortunately, the show has been immortalized on DVD, giving these fans an alternative to viewing the show in syndication.
