About Beatles

John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are four of the most famous musicians of all time. The Beatles changed rock-and-roll culture and influenced generations of musicians. From number one hits, like ''All My Lovin','' ''Can't Buy Me Love,'' and ''Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,'' to on-stage and behind-the-scene antics, these four men from the working-class English town of Liverpool revolutionized the music world.John's offbeat, out-of-the-box song making combined with Paul's intense lyricism created a unique amalgam which at once pushed the envelope and captured the hearts of teenage girls everywhere. That said, a huge rift occurred between John Lennon and Paul McCartney during the early '70s, after John started dating the quirky and divisive Yoko Ono.The split that fractured the Beatles certainly didn't finish the musical careers of the members. George Harrison went on to record some classic solo hits, including ''My Sweet Lord.'' John Lennon recorded such timeless tunes as ''Imagine,'' and he grew to become an icon of the counterculture. Paul McCartney continues to this day to give live, sold out performances to tens of thousands of people at the world's biggest auditoriums. Even Ringo Starr has had spotlight moments of his own since the break up of the Beatles. However much fans had wished for reconciliation between Paul and John and the reunion of the band, those hopes were dashed when a man named Sirhan Sirhan assassinated John Lennon outside his New York apartment complex. In the 1990s, the self-dubbed King of Pop, Michael Jackson, outbid former friend Paul McCartney for the world rights to the Beatles music catalog.
