Diane Lane

Diane Lane, has to her credit some memorable performances in films. From her early appearances on stage, to the spate of feature films that followed, Diane Lane's knack of portraying emotions on the screen earned her a well-deserved place in Hollywood. Diane Lane was born on January 22, 1965 to acting coach Burt Lane, and singer Colleen Farrington. Lane was raised by her father after the divorce of her parents, while she was still a young girl. She began professional acting at the age of six, at the La Mama Experimental Theatre in New York. Diane Lane was then chosen to act in Andrei Serbian's 'Medea.' Within the next five years, Lane starred in many of his films; The Trojan Women, Electra, As You Like It, and The Good Woman of Szechuan. She made her debut at the age of thirteen, in the film, A Little Romance opposite Laurence Oliver, and was featured on the cover of the, Time magazine. She is considered as one of the few child actresses who successfully made a transition into adult roles. In 2002, Lane was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actress for the movie, Unfaithful. She was also honored for this particular role, by The National Society of Film Critics, and The New York Film Critics. Lane also made it big with the audiences in movies like, The Outsiders and, Rumble Fish. She is known to be immensely talented at playing real, human characters, her ravenous beauty.
