Mask Cartoon

Mike Richardson, Randy Stradley and Mike Badger's, creation, 'The Mask' was intended to be a fictional character in a series of comic books to be published by Dark Horse Comics. However, the colorful, larger-than-life character created by these three could not be suppressed in a comic book alone, hence it inspired the production of a film, a sequel to the same, a gaming system, and an animated television series. The film starring Jim Carrey as 'The Mask' achieved tremendous box office success and received critical acclaim for its visual effects. The animated series received frequent air play and became a popular show, soon after its release. The plot of 'The Mask' revolves around an enchanted mask; which if worn by anyone shall grant them immense powers and physical immunity. The oversight of the Mask was that it awakens and even exaggerates hidden and suppressed dimensions of the mask wearer's true character. In all, 'The Mask' inspired creations, the mask is found by a below average resident of the fictional 'Edge City' named Stanley Ipkiss who upon wearing the mask transforms into a wacky super hero who fights crime and saves the day in his own unconventional manner. The main villain; 'Dr. Pretorius', an evil scientist who had his head removed from his body, only to place it on an apparatus with six spider-like legs. This apparatus could be fixed on to a larger robotic body. Other villains include 'The Tempest' a failed weatherman who is struck by lightening, thus granting him the power to control weather, 'Kablamus', a man with explosive powers who could blow himself up like a balloon with any damage to himself and 'Channel Surfer' a madman who travels by teleporting through television and could trap people inside television sets. Stanley; The Mask, is joined by characters such as 'Milo', Stanley's pet dog, reporter Peggy Brandt, and Lt. Kellaway along with his clumsy assistant.
