Trading Spouses is a reality show, in which two families that come from different social upbringing swap wives or husbands for a time span of a week. The serial premiered on Fox TV on July 1st, 2004. The two part season premiere of 'Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy', featured two mothers with different convictions, trading their life styles with each other. The first episode saw Marguerite Perrin of Ponchatoula and Jeanne D'Amico-Fisher of Boxborough, leaving their families and walking into each other's world. Perrin is a staunch theist and surrounds herself by people who believe in God. On the contrary, D'Amico's family believes in tarot cards, hypnotherapy, and pressure healing. The show chronicles all the chaos that ensues once they trade their life styles. Each spouse is given $ 50,000 to spend for their new adopted family. For the first 3 days, the spouse has to abide by the rules of the new family, and the next 3 days the new family is suppose to follow the rules of the spouse. ABC has a show on the same theme called 'Wife Swap', which they had first showcased at the annual network showcase. However, Fox's show debuted weeks before ABC's, tightening the competition. The latest episode of 'Trading Spouses' has the Plonsker and the Welsh family swapping their life styles. This show has a running time of 60 minutes.
