Oak Door

The 'oak' is a term, which is used for many trees and shrubs in the genus Quercus. The white oak wood is available in the regions of Europe, Asia, and North America. Generally, the oak wood is obtained from trees and is used for a variety of purposes, such as doors, tables, furniture, staircase, windows etc. The door is an integral part of home ensuring safety as well as enhancing the beauty of the house. Therefore, it becomes very essential to have a sturdy and attractive door. The Oak door, by and large, refers to the door made from oak wood. Hand crafted oak doors are preferred over machine-made oak doors. Hand crafted oak doors are unique and can be adjusted to the measurement given by the customer. There are an array of oak doors available in the market; oak ledged and braced doors, oak frame ledged doors, oak boarded doors, and oak cottage doors. Oak doors are used for internal and external purposes. Generally, internal oak doors are made from the European oak, which is considered to be of a higher quality of wood than the oak wood available from the other regions. These doors can be bespoke and can be customized to any size. Usually, a framed ledged and braced oak door is 120mm x 44mm mortise and tenoned oak frame, which gives strength and resilience. A five lever mortise lock can also be fixed to the external oak door; this providing more security to the house. However, one cannot fix a mortise lock to an internal oak ledged and braced door. The grain pattern and the fingerprints pattern are very popular styles for the oak doors.
