A chair's primary function is to provide an appropriate place for you or your guests to sit. If the space is used for reading, a firmer chair should be chosen, whereas a softer chair would be better for a lounging area. However, in addition to being functional, a chair should also be a comfortable and inviting part of your space. The recliner has virtually become synonymous with the phrase comfortable chair, but they were not always considered stylish pieces. The big and bulky designs of older recliners have made a lot of people leery of placing them in their living rooms for fear that the chairs would overpower or clash with their other furniture. Fortunately, the sleek lines on many of the newer recliners make them the perfect accent furniture to complement an existing sofa. An overstuffed club chair is also ideal as an accent chair. Club chairs are typically designed with a deep sitting area, low back rest, and comfortable arm rests. For added relaxation, a large number of club chairs are sold with matching ottomans so their occupants can prop their feet up. Whatever style of chair you choose to accent your space, you may want to think of getting it in leather. In addition to looking great, leather is a very durable material that gains character as it ages. This means that your leather chair will only get better looking with time. |
