In 1905, Mabel Baker, a New England schoolteacher, began making candles form the bayberries on Cape Cod. Down the years her business came to be known as Colonial Candle of Cape Cod. In 1973, this same business setup PartyLite Gifts, Inc. to sell surplus candles from their factory and gift shop in Hyannis, Massachusetts. They have now extended their market internationally. Blyth, Inc. in 1990, acquired Colonial Candle of Cape Cod and PartyLite, and by 1992 they relocated to Plymouth Industrial Park. PartyLite candles are made of all-natural wicks that burn with a clean, pure flame. Their candles are available in various colors and pleasing designs to suit different decors. Their candle styles include the trendy 3-wick brick, the classic taper, the tiny tea-light and the tall pillar. These candles come in a range of 55 different fragrances to match every mood. One can choose from a fruity citrus or herbal woodsy fragrance, floral or fresh and clean scent, or even a spicy edible fragrance. Their exclusive Summer/Spring line of candles and accessories is inspired from both the natural world and classy design trends that are fresh and decorative. PartyLite provides candles for both indoor and outdoor use with varying burn times. They have steadily expanded their operations and are now present in Australia, Austria, Germany, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Mexico, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the US.
