Pet Furniture

Be it a cat, dog, or bird, people keep pets for companionship or simply for the sake of enjoyment. Some people also keep exotic pets such as snakes, lizards and even scorpions. They usually treat their pets as their own children, especially when they have none of their own. While the joy of keeping pets is universal, it's the 'looking after' or caring for them that, unfortunately, gets neglected at times. Pet furniture, such as a dog-house or small bed, is essential for the well-being of the creatures. This gives them a familiar place to retreat to when they want to be alone, or when they are simply scared. Dogs, especially, need a hiding place, a place they can call their own, which they can mark as their own territory. Cats, on the other hand, need a sand pit, or kitty litter, to defecate on, and even a scratch-post so that they don't end up destroying household furniture. 'Cat trees' and 'cat perches' satisfy the animal's primal instincts to climb, sharpen claws, stalk prey. Small animals like Guinea pigs, hamsters and mice need a comfortable cage or shelter. Exercise wheels and wooden tubes provide them with recreation. When choosing pet furniture it is important to ensure that the materials used will not harm the pet in any way. Certain types of wood splinter, hence, care should be taken as to the kind of wood used for building houses and perches for pets. The textile used in making the beds and sleeping couches should also be animal-friendly.
