VilleroyVilleroy and Boch, one of the world's largest manufacturers of ceramic masterpieces today, had its origins in the French village of Audun-le-Tiche in 1748, when Francois Boch started fashioning simple, but stylish, ceramic tableware of everyday use, such as plates, pots, cups, and tureens. The company garnered a loyal customer following, until 1791, when an entrepreneur, Nicolas Villeroy, started an earthenware factory in Vaudrevange. Using copper-plating technology, Villeroy reduced production costs, threatening the market monopoly enjoyed by Boch. In 1809, Boch designed machines to replace manual processes with automated production. In 1836, Boch and Villeroy merged, creating a behemoth that has displayed market domination, spanning centuries. Villeroy and Boch products find a place in royal households, the Vatican, the best hotels and even tiles lining the Holland tunnel. While earthenware, bone china, and porcelain form the core of its produce, the company has also diversified into ingenious glass, crystal, and stainless steel creations. With three primary divisions, which are 'Tableware', 'Bathroom and Wellness', and 'Tiles', almost the entire households requirements are met. The exquisite dinnerware range consisting of plates, serving dishes, teapots, teacups, and wine glasses among numerous other items, is classified into the metropolitan, easy, country, and classic categories. The crystal products include champagne glasses, decanters, jugs, tumblers, and containers for vinegar and oil. The cutlery range, such as gleaming gold and silver plated spoons, forks, knives, and other eating instruments have varied designs. Anyone's dream bathroom is now a reality with the wide array of accessories available including baths, tap fittings, steam cabins, shower enclosures and curtains, designed tiles, and whirlpools. Tiles for the living room are designed to give the area an ethereal appeal. The kitchen is not left behind, with a wide array of sinks to choose from as well as tiles. Villeroy and Boch seems to be a one-stop shop to spruce up any household.
