About Acls Provider Manual

ACLS is short for advanced cardiac life support, which is a medical code of behavior for professional health care providers. It helps in mastering life-saving cardiac care in both pre-hospital as well as hospital environments. Meticulous training and practice is required to attain perfect knowledge of ACLS. Only professional medical health-care providers such as doctors, nurses, and others can provide ACLS. This medical code of behavior follows BLS or basic life support, which can be learned by lay people themselves during times of emergency. In ACLS, the patient's heart rhythm is first monitored, before the insertion of various airway devices. Then, drugs such as Epinephrine and Atropine are given to the patient. During this process, the precise reason for the cardiac arrest is investigated, whether heart attack, drug overdose, or trauma. Further treatment depends on the cause of the cardiac arrest. An ACLS provider manual basically guides one on the different steps in providing a patient with cardiac care. They are generally explained in a very simple manner so that even non-medical persons can understand. They are generally available in different languages for the convenience of the reader. Many versions of ACLS are available today. Other forms of cardiac care include ALS (advanced life support), ATLS (advanced trauma life support) among others.
