ArsenalFounded in Woolwich, in 1886 as the Dial Square, it was later named to Royal Arsenal. Arsenal Football club is a professional English football club in North London. They are one of the most triumphant clubs in English football and play in the FA Premier League. Arsenal club joined the Football League in 1893, starting with the Second Division, winning promotion in 1904 to the First Division. In 1925, the highly successful Herbert Chapman was appointed as the manager. Winning the league with Huddersfield Town in 1924 and 1925, he bought the first period of major success to Arsenal. Chapman's revolutionary training and tactics, with the signing of major players like Cliff Bastin and Alex James, laid the foundation of the club's domination in the 1930's of English football. This time period saw the Arsenal winning the FA Cup twice and the First Division five times. It also won the cup in 1950 and the league in 1948 and 1953. The club's success in late 1990's and 2000's owes most of its success to the manager Arsene Wenger, who brought with him new tactics, and a complete new regime with several foreign players complimenting the existing English talent. Arsenal were victorious in 2003 and 2005 FA Cups also winning the Premier League in 2004 without the loss of a single match, earned them the nickname 'The Invincibles', creating a national record with the club winning 49 league matches without being beaten once. Arsenal's away colors are traditionally yellow and blue, with the colors of 2005-2006 being yellow and dark grey.
