Avirex is a classic American brand of urban apparel for men, women, and children created by aviation aficionado Jeff Clyman, in the year 1975. Jeff wanted to create flight jackets which looked similar to jackets worn by the pilots in World War II. In addition, to this he was wanted to keep the spirit of pioneers and heroes of American aviation, such as Lindbergh, Doolittle, Fisher, and Yeager. Today, Avirex is one of the most famous classic American outerwear companies and is supported by Ecko, the clothing brand created by Marc Ecko. The company has evolved over a period of time and has expanded their collection to include sportswear for the youth, consisting of denim, knits, fleece, and tees. There are number of jackets manufactured by Avirex and the Navy Blue Leather Jacket is one such product. It is made from nylon and has a snap closure (extra snaps included) with 2 slanted pockets on the outside, 2 pockets on the inside. This jacket sports a Blue varsity logo on the left chest and a larger logo on the back. The Avirex logo is embroidered in blue on the back of the collar as well. Bottom and cuffs are ribbed with blue and white stripes. Avirex apparel has been worn by a number of celebrities in their real and reel life. The Antonio Banderas-starrer, Take the Lead, has several actors in it wearing Avirex clothing. Other celebrities known to wear Avirex clothing include Hollywood heavyweights Bruce Willis and Tom Cruise. Avirex supplied the Mil Spec jackets for the Tom Cruise movie Top Gun and has also produced garments for the American Air Forces. |
