The history of cycling is the history of Bianchi. The company was founded in 1885 in Milan, Italy by Eduardo Bianchi. Bianchi has been a driving force in cycling innovations and competitions. The foundations of modern bicycle design and construction were laid 100 years ago by Bianchi and had never ever required to looked back again. Bianchi was the 'first' everything for bicycles, the first Italian bike maker to use the new air filled rubber tubes and tires from John Dunlop of Scotland. Built the first women's bicycles and became the first bicycle company to use racing as a testing ground for innovation. They manufactured various types of bicycles such as road, mountain, track and cruiser bikes. The famous Race Department factory in Treviglio, Italy; has built their well known racing bicycles. More World Championships, stage races and classics have been won on Bianchi bicycles than any other brand. In 1943, the entire Bianchi factory was destroyed by an Allied bomb and the factory was rebuilt in 1946, by its founding father. Bianchi bicycles are made with the most current materials and technology while preserving the style that comes with a century of tradition and experience. Its racing heritage is second to none, and can be experienced in every frame and every perfectly-matched component. The 126 years old Bianchi and its subsidiary brands has been part of Cycleurope Group, the Swedish company of Grimaldi Industries AB, since May 1997. Bianchi bikes in their signature Celeste green color can be seen in the Peloton of the Tour de France, a World Cup mountain bike podium, or in front of your favorite cafe. |
