Blue's Clues is a children's show which airs on Nickelodeon. It features paper cutout animation which is combined together with real live action. The main character of the series is a dog named Blue. The series present children with educational entertainment as they follow Blue's everyday life happenings.

The show began in 1996 and Blue's owner was Steve, a real life character played by Steven Burns. When Burns decided to quit the show, the character went off to college and his younger brother, Joe, played by Donovan Patton, moved in to look after Blue. The entire show revolves around the game Blues Clues, which starts at the beginning of the show. The game begins with the host asking Blue a question; she responds by jumping up and marking the object with a blue paw print. The host then scans the entire house in search of Blue's three clues. As the host moves along the way, he comes across various other characters such as a shaker of salt, and a mailbox that helps the host in finding Blue's clues. After having found all the three clues, the host then sits in his 'thinking chair' and puts the three clues together so as to figure out the answer to the host's original question: 'What does Blue want to do today?'

Blue's Clues has grown highly popular, featuring all over the world and being dubbed and remade in a number of languages, worldwide. The show's increasing fan base has led to the release of direct-to video-DVDs based on it.
