Brett Lorenzo Favre is an extremely popular quarterback for the Green Bay Packers American Football team. He has started playing for his team in the National Football League (NFL), since 1992. This superb athlete has won the 'Most Valuable Player' award thrice, from 1995 to 1997. Brett Favre is well known for his toughness, skill, and endurance. He was inducted in the Southern Mississippi Hall of Fame in April, 1997.
Brett Favre traces his ancestral connection to the French and the Native American Choctaw. This great quarterback was born on October 10, 1969, in Gulfport, Mississippi. He attended Hancock North Central High school in Kiln, Mississippi where he grew up. Irvin Favre was his first coach, and he learnt to play in several positions such as lineman, place kicker, punter, and quarterback. Southern Mississippi offered him a scholarship after high school. They made him play defensive back, however he worked his way to the starting position just three games before the freshman year. In 1991, Favre was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons, and represented them in only two games before joining the Green Bay Packers team.
