Bulgari

Since 1884, Bulagri has set the pace for Italian style and design in jewelry. Bulgari designs are inspired from Roman and Greek art, creating a unique and contemporary piece. Bulgari was founded by Greek emigrant Sotirios Voulgaris, in Rome in 1884. Sotirios descends from an ancient family of Greek silversmiths, who began trading, in a small village known as Epirus. This is where Sotirios began manufacturing silver objects. He then moved to Italy, in the late 19th century, and in 1884 he started his first shop in Via Sistina, Rome. Later, with the help of his sons Giorgio and Costantino in 1905, he inaugurated their shop in Via Condotti, which is still, the flagship store of Bulgari. During the 20th century, Sotirios' sons developed a keen interest with expertise in precious jewels, stones and watches, gradually taking over their father's responsibility and management. The period after the II World War was a crucial turning point for the Company, drifting away from the dominant and strict French goldsmith school of principles and creating their own unique style. Bulgari started expanding its brand worldwide during the 1970's with its first overseas store in New York, closely followed by other stores in Geneva, Monte Carlo and Paris. Bulgari watches were launched during the 1980's creating a success story the world over. The same era also witnessed the establishment of Bulgari Time Neuchatel, a company founded to produce all Bulgari watch lines. The early 1990's saw the establishment of Bulgari Perfumes entry in the high-end perfume market. Earlier known only for its jewelry, Bulgari today sells a whole line of products which include fragrances, handbags, accessories and hotels. Bulgari is the word for prestige and excellence with its stores spread all around the globe from Rome, London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, to Tokyo and Dubai.
