About Cadillac

Cadillac is one of the most famous automobile manufactured by General Motors. It was originally formed from the remnants of the Henry Ford Company. Ford's financial backers wanted to sell its equipment, and plant. However, Henry Martyn Leland, an engineer wanted to continue with its production. Henry Ford removed his name from the brand of Cadillac, and Henry Martyn Leland took over. This resulted into a formation of new company called as the Cadillac Automobile Company in August 22, 1902. This Car was named after the 17th century French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac. The first Cadillac was manufactured in the year 1902. The company was then purchased by General Motors in the year 1909. This car was then produced in the category of large luxury vehicles. It was offered three models of 2-door Touring 5-passenger, 2-door Demi-Tonneau 4- passenger, and Roadster 3-passenger at that time. Cadillac continued to make different models of their cars. The company also manufactured war equipments such as tanks, during the period 1943 to 1945. The Cadillac symbol is made of a Laurel Wreath with a shield that represents bravery. The shield has set of different colors, which have an attached meaning. The color red represents boldness, while the blue represents purity. The black cross represents a military honor for someone who works for public welfare, while the gold background represents wisdom, and rewards. The multiple cross bars represents multiple achievements. This famous symbol is synonymous with all Cadillac cars. The Cadillac has made different models with different body styles. Today, General Motors continues to make these luxurious cars that appeal to most of the car lovers.
