Card Set

A card is a flat object, generally made of paper, cardboard or plastic. Cards are used either for playing or for collection as a hobby. There are a variety of cards such as Tarot cards, playing pack of cards, NBA cards, baseball cards, and so on. The tarot cards is a set of 78 cards structured into two distinct parts. The first called the trump cards, consists of 21 cards without suits, plus a 22nd card, the Fool which is sometimes given the values of zero. The second consists of 56 cards divided into four suits of 14 cards each. In the regular playing cards, there are 52 in a pack. They have a history of use in Europe which goes back to the late 1300s. Card games such as Bridge, and Poker are now become world famous. Most countries have their own designs, popular locally and are very colorful and have different designs. The Swiss have a pack of 36 cards, and Germans have 32 cards. The picture, and probably a signature of ones favorite baseball or hockey player is collected as a hobby by many, and this is another type of card. These cards generally give a few details about the player. There are also accessories or home items such as ashtrays, plates, bowls, etc having the picture or designs of cards. These accessories generally have the shape of a spade, diamond, heart or the clubs.
