Oldsmobile Cutlass is an automobile manufactured by Oldsmobile, which is a division of General Motors. There were number of vehicles that were produced simultaneously by Oldsmobile under the label 'Cutlass'. The first Cutlass manufactured was a sports coupe that was designed in 1954. It had a broad wheelbase of 110 inches with Oldsmobile V8 engine. The three most popular Cutlass cars were Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme, Cutlass Calais, and Cutlass Ciera. The Cutlass Supreme was a mid-size luxury car manufactured from 1966 to 1997. The notchback roofline and intermediate four-door hardtop were key features of the Cutlass Supreme manufactured in the first generation. In 1973, the Cutlass was redesigned and the hardtop models were replaced by the new 'Colonnade' styling with fixed pillar. The car was also offered in a four-door Colonnade sedan and as a six-passenger station wagon. The last generation Cutlass supreme was offered with LQ1 3.4 L V6 engine. The Cutlass Calais was a compact car manufactured from 1985 to 1991. The Cutlass Calais (1985-1988) was installed with Tech IV 2.5 L I4 engine that was able to generate 92 to 98 hp and had a torque of 135 ft-lb. However, the Calais was also available with 3800 3.0 L V6 engine that could produce 125 hp. The last generation Calais was equipped with Quad-4 2.3 L I4 engine that could produce 180 hp and had a torque of 160 ft-lb. It had a 5-speed manual transmission. The Ciera was a mid-size sedan manufactured between 1982 and 1996. There were various body style including 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan, and the Cutlass cruiser station wagon. The first generation Ciera was equipped with 25002.5L I4 engine. The last Ciera produce had 3.1 L V6 engine that could produce 160 hp and a torque of 185 ft-lbs. |
